Personal Assistance Process
Application- an application or a request for an application is received by the Foundation. After determination as to need (emergency or scheduled) the application or request is referred to the Trustee and Lions club in the applicant’s home area for completion.
Application- Lions club to interview applicant and complete entire application as much as possible and as accurate as possible
Club action- upon completion of application the sponsoring Lions club accepts or denies the application. If accepted the club, with approval signatures, refers the application to their Sight & Hearing Trustee. Can club assist Foundation with monies?
Sight & Hearing Trustee action- upon receipt of application the Trustee should approve or deny the application and refer the approved application to the Sight & Hearing personal committee head for scheduling of services. Has referring Lions club assisted the Foundation with monies, which has no bearing upon approval or denial?
Personal Assistance Committee Chairlion action- upon receipt of approved application from local Trustee chairlion puts applicant into the pool with regards to need and budgeted allowances for action.
Trustees- works with all medical personnel with regards to pricing and information about the Idaho/Eastern Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation and services that we provide. Work with your Lions clubs as to need of the Foundation for monies to be able to help those less fortunate.
Personal Assistance Chairlion responsibility- maintain budget for sight assistance as to need within the monies allocated for the budget year.
If we use this process we believe that this will renew interest within all members and clubs in MD39. This will involve members that have not been involved in the past and not let the decision be left up to one person to handle. Does your club have a sight chairlion? The Sight & Hearing Foundation needs a contact in your club that we can call upon for all requests and to keep informed as to Sight & Hearing developments. They can pass information on to all members of their respective clubs. All members are reminded that everyone is welcome to all Idaho/Eastern Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation meetings. We welcome all input to help us in our endeavor.
